It can protect against dandruff and help to treat lice, and is also effective as a styling product instead of a gel or wax. Coconut oil also coats and protects the hair from harsh environments, UV rays and damage from using styling tools such as hairdryers. How to Use Coconut Oil as a Hair Mask for Healthy Hair and Hair Growth:
Wash your hair with shampoo and towel dry. Apply 1-2 tablespoons of liquid coconut oil to the hair and massage from root to tip (melt the cocount oil in a small bowl placed in a large bowl of hot water if it is in a solid state). Wrap your hair up in a shower cap or cling wrap and leave to soak in for at least 30 minutes. Remove the shower cap and either shampoo to remove oil or rinse out. You can apply a small amount of coconut oil to the tips of hair afterwards if desired.
How to Use Coconut Oil as a Hair Gel/Wax:
Style your hair naturally with coconut oil and feel the benefits – no more chemicals and expensive products! Simply scoop a small amount of coconut oil, rub it between the palms until it is melted and not lumpy, and apply from root to tip to wet or dry hair. Be careful not to use too much as you don’t want your hair to look greasy. Style your hair as desired.
How to Use Coconut Oil to Treat Dandruff:
Before you go to bed at night, make sure your hair is clean and dry. Then scoop a small amount of liquid coconut oil into your hands and massage into your scalp. (You can either rub it between your palms or heat it up in a small bowl placed into a larger bowl of boiling water). Wrap your hair with a towel and sleep overnight. When you wake up in the morning, wash your hair with a natural shampoo and comb through. Do this every second night until the problem clears.
